A clear process, start to finish
Every step is explained before it happens. You’ll always know what we’re measuring and why.
1. Complete your intake
A detailed questionnaire covers your goals, history, sleep, nutrition, stress, and daily routine. It takes about 20 minutes and gives us the full picture.
2. Gather your data
We measure your body composition in the office. Blood work is drawn at a lab. You wear a continuous glucose monitor for a short period and log your meals in an app so we can see how your day-to-day choices line up with your numbers.
3. Review it together
We go through your labs, glucose data. and food journal side by side, in plain language, and talk about what stands out.
4. Build your plan
You leave with a personalized plan covering nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress habits, plus any supplements or additional services that are appropriate for you. If your results point to hormones or other areas where prescription care may help, we can connect you with a licensed telemedicine physician.
5. Follow up and adjust
We check in, look at your progress, and refine the plan as your life and your data change.
What we look at
No single test tells the whole story. The program is built on five sources, reviewed together.
Card 1: Your history
Goals, symptoms, past efforts, medications, and family background, in your own words.
Card 2: Blood work
A broad panel, including key hormone markers, ordered through the program and drawn at a partner lab.
Card 3: Glucose data
A wearable sensor shows how your body responds to meals, activity, and sleep.
Card 4: Food journal
Simple meal tracking on the app that gives your glucose data context.
Card 5: Body composition
A quick, non-invasive in-office scan that estimates body fat, muscle mass, and visceral fat, so we can track changes over time.

When more support makes sense
For some people, the data points to hormones or other areas where prescription care may be appropriate. In those cases, we connect you with an independent, licensed telemedicine physician.
The physician conducts their own evaluation and decides whether a prescription therapy, such as hormone replacement or peptide therapy, is right for you. Not everyone needs or qualifies for these therapies, and nothing is prescribed unless the physician determines it is appropriate.
Prescriptions are written only by the telemedicine physician, not by Dr. Wahlrab.
Common questions
Q: Is this medical treatment?
A: The Optimal Advantage is a wellness and education program. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, and it supports, but does not replace, your own provider’s clinical evaluation. If a service outside our scope would be appropriate, we’ll refer you to a licensed provider.
Q: Do I have to wear a glucose monitor?
A: The sensor is a core part of the data-gathering phase, so the program is designed around it. Tell us about any skin or adhesive sensitivities on your intake so we can plan ahead.
Q: Will I get specific results?
A: Everyone is different, and we don’t guarantee any particular outcome. What we can promise is a thorough look at your data and a plan built for you.
Q: What does it cost?
A: The glucose monitor is about $80. We've negotiated a very reduced fee with the lab, providing a $1700 lab panel for only $418. We’ll walk through it with you before you commit to anything.
Q: Do you prescribe hormones or peptides?
A: Dr. Wahlrab is a chiropractor and does not prescribe. If your results suggest that prescription care may be appropriate, we will connect you with an independent, licensed telemedicine physician, who does their own evaluation and decides whether any prescription therapy is right for you.
Q: Who will I work with?
A: You’ll work with Dr. Rik Wahlrab DC in Lake Forest, California.
